Hurricane Season officially begins in Central Pacific region
June 1 marks the beginning of hurricane season in the Central Pacific region, which includes the Hawaiian Islands. It runs until the end of November, although hurricanes and tropical storms can happen at any time of the year.
The Hawaii Department of Health wants to make sure residents of our state are prepared. It is recommended that all households have a family emergency kit that includes water, food, medicine, and other essentials to last at least 14 days.
